I am a city girl through and through, of which Jason reminded me as I noticed all the "interesting" smells around the barn ;), however I LOVE being out on the farm. Its such a simple life, a slower life and it feels good. I enjoy watching the kids run and run wherever they want to and not worrying about cars or streets, instead we worry about pitchforks and rusty metal, ha! Jason's grandma, Mary, lives on an acreage in Walnut, IL and has for many, many years. She is now a widow and takes care of the property all by herself, with a little help from friends and family. I am so amazed at all the things she can do and ways she is so handy! She is such a special lady and we had so much fun playing at her house for Memorial weekend. The kids dug out some "vintage" toys and Grandma even played the piano for them. Keira's favorite was the "Princeton Loyalty" and her little dance to accompany it was hilarious. Grandma Mary is also such a godly example to us and we are thankful for her testimony and the way she walks with the Lord each day. She is such a blessing to our family. I think I will probably choose to live in or near the city if I can but visiting the farm is never a disappointment!!
